The Very Best Of Cher [Worldwide edition]

Finally it was released here in Brazil! ...Day by day I notice more Cher fans here in my country and realize how good it would be to have Cher making one of her amazing shows here for us! Since "The Very Best Of Cher" was released in the US and not in the rest of the world I got so sad because it always sounded like perfect but I had no ways to get the compilation. First for the dollar (which is too expencive here in Brazil) and also 'cause I don't have credit cards and I'm so insacure 'bout using other ways in the net.

So I have been looking for information every day, all day in the net... Going to Google.com everyday and writing something that might match to the colection contents. But I haven't found nothing. So I kinda had given up to look for it and was trying to get "The Farewell Tour" dvd, 'cause I had already noticed that was on sale internacionally.

So I walked into a very good store here in my city with "only" R$50,00 (something like $16,00 - what a different among the number, don't you think?-) and was looking for Live's "Birds Of Pray" cd. There were not other reason for lookinf for the Cher dvd 'cause I don't even have a dvd player! And I was walking through the store... Looked at Rita Lee stuff (I LOVE THIS JUST AFTER CHER and you really should hear her stuff: it's incredible!) and, when I turned to the internacional stuff and looked at "The Very Best Of Cher" I almost fell on the floor! I secured not to shout and forgot all I was about to buy! I got it for R$48,90 (around $16.00) and went home running more than I ever thought I could! Put it in the player and began to listen to the BEST CD I'VE EVER BOUGHT!

"Believe" opens it magnifcently followed by "Strong Enough", which I consider my anthem when I get sad for love, and then "If I Could Turn Back Time". I had a great surprise hearing to the lp "rock-er" version of "I Found Someone" with heavier guitars in its spectacular '80s rock style. The radio edit of "(This Is) A Song For The Lonely" (here re-called by "Song For The Lonely", only - and better this way, I feel) is wounderful. I wish this last one had had more divulgation... A little ahead, although it's my favourite song after "Believe", "Save Up All Your Tears" was re-mastered "pop-er" and don't show those great guitar as it includes in its version off "Cher's Greatest Hits: 1965-1992" (Geffen). "Pui Che Puoi" has great lyrics, but I don't like very much Italian and don't really understand it... (Neither what "dov'è l'amore" means). So good to see "Rudy", "Bad Love" and "When The Money's Gone" included. I'd prefer the radio edit of "A Different Kind Of Love Song" (with Cher yelling a "whoa" in its begining). "Alive Again" wasn't necessary here.

In the second disk, GREAT stuff too. I prefer the original version of "Dov'è L'Amore" (the "Believe" album one) and I'd prefer the radio edit of "The Music's No Good Without You". "Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves" just after "The Music's No Good Without You" sounds exquisite but after that the cd flows right. The versions of "I Got You Babe" and "The Beat Goes On" are special and very good. To include the both versions of "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)" was a good idea, too. We can see Cher's evolution through the years when hearing them. "Train Of Thought" is one of my favourite Cher's songs and it was PERFECT to include that GREAT SONG here!... "Not Enough Love In The World" and "Born With The Hunger" make this disk two special. Together with "Dead Ringer For Love", in which the rocker Meat Loaf features Cher, and "Train Of Thought" it's a must have!

After listening to almost three hours of excelent music, I can say that this is a great compilation, (the best of mine ones I've ever bought) and all around the world MUST HAVE IT! This is simply the greatest thing I've ever noticed on the Earth!
